My name is Leandro Ferreira and I was born in Foz do Sousa, in the municipality of Gondomar, where I lived until the age of 21. I am the founder of GOLD EPIC TOURS.

My journey of discovering the world began in 2008, when I lived abroad for the first time through the Erasmus programme in Warsaw (Poland). That experience awakened in me the joy of travelling and connecting with people from all corners of the globe.

I completed my degree in Business Management, followed by a Master’s in Industrial Engineering. After finishing my studies, I chose once again to live outside Portugal, while also starting my professional career in the financial and project evaluation sector.

Between 2011 and 2025, I lived and worked in four different countries across two continents, absorbing the culture and traditions of each place. First, two years in Madrid (Spain), followed by one year in Dunkirk (France), around six months in Falkirk (Scotland), and three years in Luanda (Angola). In 2020, I returned to Portugal and to my roots.

Fifteen years of professional experience and travel around the world led me to realise that Portugal — especially the north — is a true paradise by the sea, offering safety, great weather, amazing cuisine, and one of our most valuable traits: the warm way we welcome those who visit us. It’s worth mentioning that, in 2022, after the pandemic, I began walking the Camino de Santiago (Spain). I’ve completed three routes so far, and it has become one of my greatest passions — a journey that allows me to meet and share stories with people from all five continents.

In 2018, I co-founded a local accommodation project in Gondomar called “Casas da Casada”, which remains open to the public today. This marked the beginning of my journey in the tourism sector.

With over 7 years of professional experience in Portuguese tourism, I now begin a solo project in 2025: the creation of GOLD EPIC TOURS, born from my passion for sharing the beauty, stories, cuisine, and traditions of Northern and Central Portugal.

This entrepreneurial spirit may come from my family background: my maternal grandfather was a farmer; my paternal grandfather transported passengers by boat in the 1950s; and more recently, my father worked as a building materials merchant. All of them were entrepreneurs — and they passed that spirit on to me.
